About Ankeny Hill Farm

We are a small family farm near Salem, Oregon learning to live off the land and offering horseback riding lessons. Melissa has loved and owned horses since she was a child. She participated in 4-H, open shows, dressage shows and clinics and has won championships and high points. She has trained many horses from the ground up and given riding lessons. 4-H has always held a special place in her heart. She has always had a dream of owning an equestrian facility, teaching kids to ride and work as a team with their horse, and growing her own knowledge in the art of Dressage. Interested in riding lessons for yourself or your child? “If you are looking for horse riding lessons, Ankeny Hill Farm is the place for you! Melissa is wonderful with horses! My son and daughter have both enjoyed lessons with her. My son has taken up new hobbies, but my daughter is constantly asking when her next lesson will be. The horse that my daughter rides is very well mannered and I have never worried about her safety. Melissa is a great teacher and packs the whole hour with learning. The experience leaves you wanting to learn more and ready for the next lesson.“ “My girls (ages 11, 8, and 5) have been taking horse riding lessons at Ankeny Hill Farm for the last three summers. Their instructor, Melissa, has a quiet, soft-spoken personality that made my girls feel safe and secure. Her horse, Tess, is gentle and patient with the kids. My girls are always excited for their lessons and love the time they get to spend at Ankeny Hill Farm. They have enjoyed learning a little of what is involved in caring for a horse. They have learned balance, control, and how to take charge of the horse. We are looking forward to another summer of lessons and we are very excited for them to get their indoor arena up so that we can do lessons in the winter as well! They also have amazing pasture raised chicken, grass fed beef, and free range eggs. Go check them out!!!” You can reach us on ourcontact page Melissa offers horseback riding lessons to beginner and intermediate riders on your horse or ours.
