We named our farm Colorado Aromatics for the aromatic herbs we grow here and use in our skin care line of the same name. We are located in a beautiful place in Colorado with a view of Longs and Meeker Peaks. We love living and working here. We use organic practices on our farm and are Certified Naturally Grown(CNG). CNG is a grass roots alternative to organic that is a great alternative for small farms. You can read about it in our bloghere. We also have chickens on our farm and occasionally will host additional animals. Animals are important for naturally controlling pest insects and managing weeds. They are also vital to our soil health by providing manure. “The nation that destroys its soil destroys itself.” -Franklin D. Roosevelt Lavender is one of our main crops, but we grow over 30 different herbs/vegetables that we use in skin care. Some of these include calendula, mint, cucumber, lemon balm, rose, raspberry leaf, and comfrey. Some of these we distill for aromatic waters. Others we extract using oil, water or alcohol. Because we use these herbs in our skin care products we call it ‘Farm to Skin’. You can purchase our lavender productshere. The herb that started it all, lavender is the inspiration behind who we are today. We grow two different species and over 13 varieties of this beautiful, fragrant plant. Calendula, a marigold with prized medicinal value, bestows bright pops of color in the Colorado summer. This member of the mint family is grown to be dried and distilled as a powerful medicinal herb in a variety of our products. Black peppermint, spearmint, and native mountain mint provide a refreshing aroma on the farm. We grow native yarrow for its medicinal properties, its value to native insects, and for its beauty. We love watching the leaves and flowers dance gracefully in the Colorado wind. Fragrant Kazanlak roses bloom in the early summer, harvested to be distilled while our other brightly colored roses are harvested for drying. Our business has always been committed to sustainability and protection of the natural world. These core values are included in the way we farm. This means that we are continuously improving our farming practices to better preserve native biodiversity, protect our soil, and reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible. Our farm is Certified Naturally Grown. We use organic management techniques for pest and weed control – never spraying our crops with toxic pesticides or herbicides. This means many hours of weeding on our hands and knees throughout the growing season to protect the biodiversity on our farm and keep our products safe. We've had two conservation biologists on staff who implemented strategies for reducing our impact, managing pests and invasive species, and enhancing habitat for the native plant and animal community fo
Colorado Aromatics creates natural skincare products based on the healing properties of herbs and green science. Their Cultivated Skincare line uses herbs grown on their Colorado Aromatics farm, combining the power of herbs and science to create effective skincare products. These products are formulated to address the needs of outdoor individuals, particularly for after-sun care, by using antioxidant-rich herbs and other actives to minimize dry skin, hyperpigmentation, redness & irritation, and wrinkles. Cindy, the founder, is passionate about demystifying healthcare and educating customers and colleagues about the science behind skincare, while also fostering community by participating in local farmers markets and supporting other local groups and businesses.
