Crossroads Farmers Market opened in 2007 to give residents of the Takoma-Langley Crossroads area better access to fresh, local produce. Together with the Takoma Park Farmers Market, it became the first farmers market in Maryland to accept SNAP (food stamps), WIC, and senior assistance vouchers and the first market nationwide to use private funds to match food benefits with market "Fresh Checks." This producers-only market is held every Wednesday from 10:30am-2:30pm from April through November . We feature local fruits and vegetables from local sustainable growers, local artisans, Latin American herbs, prepared foods, and baked goods, as well as health screenings, children's activities, and live music.
