About Eight Mile Creek Farm

Established in 2005, Eight Mile Creek Farm sits upon 430 acres (plus 120 acres leased for hay production) tucked away on a dirt road in Westerlo, NY in the Heldeberg Hilltowns.  The house and barns were originally built in 1835.  From that time until the 1950’s it was a working family farm, transitioning into low-scale agricultural production for hay in the mid-1950’s. Pam set out to restore the land as a productive working farm in 2005 by building a diversified agricultural business, incorporating her nutrition and wellness degree to produce the most nutrient dense food possible.  The farm is based on a system of regenerative agriculture.  Since the basis of organic farming is healthy soil, this type of agriculture strives to regenerate topsoil, increase biodiversity, conserve water and improve resilience to climate fluctuations, thereby increasing healthy yields while reducing external inputs.  Pam  maintains, the farm’s annual organic certification, providing customers with the healthiest products available. Today Eight Mile Creek Farm is a family farm producing more than 100 kinds of vegetables and herbs, offering each  in several varieties. Produce includes certified organic beans, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, celery, escarole, fennel, asian greens, lettuce, mesclun, chard, kale, kohlrabi, leeks,  onions, scallions,  rutabaga, peppers, radishes, summer and winter squashes, tomatillos, tomatoes, sugar snap peas, broccoli raab, collards, radicchio, mustard greens, turnips, eggplant, beets, potatoes, basil, cilantro, parsley, dill, many medicinal herbs as well as many beautiful varieties of flowers. Certified organic grass-fed beef, pork, chicken and pastured eggs are produced year round;  animals receive no growth hormones, antibiotics or medications.  Pam’s animals are raised the way nature intended- fed lots of green grass in the summer and  hay in the winter.    Organic turkey is available for the holidays. Eight Mile Creek Farm is also certified with the Real Organic Project
