Mixed Livestock Farm
Grass-Fed Beef | Sustainable Farming | Wolcottville, IN
The Bovee family has been farming just south of Stroh, Indiana, since 1854. Our family has always played an important role in feeding and serving our community. In the mid-1900s, Brothers Harold and Russell opened a JI Case implement dealership in the small cement-producing town of Stroh. Russell's children eventually moved out of state, leaving Harold's 2 sons and 2 daughters, along with their respective spouses, to operate the implement business and the farm. In the late '80s, the tractor manufacturers began consolidating the smaller dealerships into larger ones. It was at this time that the Bovees‘ small Case dealership was closed. Most of the family members are now focused more on farming. Cattle, sheep, hogs, chickens, alpacas, goats, and horses - to name the most prevalent animals - were now a mainstay on the different Bovee progeny farms. As of the time of this writing (2025), 21 direct descendants of Harold are still actively involved in farming to one degree or another, with most of those still living within 10 minutes of the original homestead. Jonathon and his wife Christi and their 6 children are blessed to be able to still live on and steward the original farm. In 2012, we moved completely away from row crop farming and began focusing solely on raising 100% grass-fed cattle. There have been many changes over the past 170 years, but one thing that has not changed is the Bovee family's commitment to raising high-quality food for our community. Come be a part of our family!
