Over the past 25 years I haven't used chemical fertilizers, only fish, kelp, cottonseed meals, and other natural nutrients. I have never used herbicides. I use an organic-approved insecticide for cherry fruit fly which is derived from a soil bacterium. It is put on the trunk of the tree & not the cherries. That is it for insecticides or pesticides. I avoid organic-approved materials like copper fungicides & certain organic fertilizers that I believe are detrimental to the long-term health of the soil.I use to be able to call my fruit organic on my website without having to be certified, but because my income is a bit more I need to now be certified which can takea few months so for now I need to take the word 'organic' off the fruit of my website to satisfy the USDA. I so appreciate all of of you wonderful pickers who come to my little farm to pick beautiful, clean, nutrient-packed fruit.
