The highly anticipated Normal St. Promenade construction begins early 2025. We’re moving the Farmers Market right around the corner while we build our new permanent home. BeginningSunday January 26th, 2025, the Hillcrest Farmers Market will be on University Ave. (between Herbert St. & Park Blvd.). No need to stress, all your favorite vendors will still be at the market, parking will remain open at the DMV, and the market will continue to run every Sunday (rain or shine) from 9 am - 2 pm! The Hillcrest Farmers Market is filled with over 175 vendors offering a wide variety of locally grow produce, gifts, arts and crafts, flowers, clothing, and more! Over 10,000 people a week visit our market. Many of our local farmers grow their produce organically or with no pesticides. The market also hosts a large variety of prepared and hot food items with an emphasis on international cuisine. We also host weekly entertainment performed by a variety of local musicians. The market opened on April 13, 1997 with only 27 vendors and has continued to grow with the community. We are proud to and maintain our reputation as “The Best” Farmers Market in San Diego County! There’s a wide variety of vendors at the market that change out every week. The best way to learn about the vendors is to visit us. Shop at the Market and win! If you shop at the market each week, it’s easy to win a huge gift basket of goodies from our vendors! Next time you're at the market visit the Information Booth and pick up a punch card. Whenever you shop at the market, get a punch in your card (double punches for rainy days), and submit your completed cards to win. Every quarter we draw a winner! Don't worry if you don't get all your punches this quarter, your card can be submitted next quarter too. Drawings will occur on the last day of the Quarter (March, June, September, & December). Winners will be announced on social media and emailed directly. Rules:Cards not drawn are not included in the subsequent quarter. One stamp card per person. If you complete the card before the drawing, you may start a second card. If you don’t complete the card before the drawing, you can use the card toward the next quarter. Cards must be fully completed to win. Multiple cards may be combined to complete one card. Stamps on lost cards will not be replaced. We’re proud to support families using the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). We’re always exploring ways to increase accessibility and will provide updates if this changes in the future. Because California health codes classify farmers markets as food facilities,pets are not allowedat any San Diego farmers markets, including ours.Service animalsare permitted. Yes! Market “Bucks” Gift certificates, T shirts, grocery bags, and lots of other goodies are available in the Fabulous Hillcrest online store! The Hillcrest Farmers Market gift certificates are called Market Bucks. They’re available in denominations of $5 and $10 and celebrate two of Hillcrest’s pioneering activists~ State Senator Christine Kehoe and Founding Executive Director of the Market Warren Simon. The Market Bucks are available at the Information Booth or at the online store. They can be redeemed at any vendor. No change is given for market bucks.
