Like you, we knew our choices mattered, but we struggled to find products that matched our ethos. Pig & Leaf Farm was created to make it easier for you, to make those choices. Hi! We’re Jen & Cliffand in 2018, we set out to create a thriving farm that would both nurture the land & our community. So, Pig & Leaf was born. But our story really started 24 years ago…. Rooted in food, farming & family While dating in college, way back in 1999, we worked on an organic vegetable farm together. During trips to the shore to collect seaweed for fertilizer, hours in the hot, Florida sun & lots of time experimenting with new foods and new cuisine,we fell in love….with food, farming and each other. We travelled and lived on farms for 10 years until, in 2009, we bought our own land, originally only 6.5 acres. It was a clear cut ridge top, void of vegetation and topsoil and we set out to apply all the things we’d learned, to help restore it. From 2009-2019, we owned Spiral Ridge Permaculture, teaching homesteader skills & designing for others, while developing our own land. During this time we acquired three of the surrounding plots of land, bringing our total number of acres to 50. We now owned the whole ridge! These purchases made it possible to farm full time (we finally had enough flat-ish land), so we closed the doors on Spiral Ridge and created Pig & Leaf. It’s been a lot of work and there have been a lot of helping hands along the way.
