Short hours: March 16-27, Monday – Friday, 1:00-4:00pm for early seeds and Flowers are grown from seed, starting in Dec. 2025. Only 1/3 are purchased as tiny plants, called “plugs”. ALL of our vegetables are grown from seed, except the Sweet potatoes, which are grown from cuttings. We will have bare root plants available for Strawberries (June-bearing & ever-bearing) Asparagus – Our customers have told us that our plants do very well for them. We think it has to do with the fact that wedon’tuse growth inhibitors, and that the plants are grown from seeds at this latitude and longitude, so they are acclimated to our area. We give glory to God for making the seeds grow and flourish. Our family began planting Christmas tree seedlings in 2000. We sold our first tree off the farm in 2007, from our front porch. For Christmas 2014, our first trees were sold from the new Red Barn next to highway 50. A small greenhouse to sell bedding plants was added, then another. Our daughter started raising pumpkins, and we added home-grown mums. Now there is a larger greenhouse where the first small one stood. We added a second greenhouse a couple years later. Almost all our flowers and all the vegetables are raised here from seed. Our daughter, Hannah, and family will soon be involved in our greenhouse business. Our son, Elijah, is beginning to take over the planting of new Christmas tree seedlings, mostly pines, that grow well here. Keep in mind that if you want mums to come back each year in your garden, you will have the best chance by planting them in the spring when they are small. We are selling those beginning in mid May. They will flower the first season, so you will still have lots of color. All the pictures we use are those from our farm over the last few years.
