I attended my sister’s wedding here in 2025. The venue, service and staff truly all deserve 5 stars and they truly made the day special for our family. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get married!! Can’t say enough good things and the sunset during the ceremony was spectacular! Thousand acres is by far the best wedding venue in the state of Delaware and surrounding. With its beautiful views and sunset, you pick apples, pumpkins, and even sunflowers you cant go wrong. Management is absolutely amazing and so easy to get along with, They 100% make any an every experience the best!! Took the family here in early fall for apple picking, absolutely beautiful place, very well maintained staff was super friendly and helpful. The apples were some of the best we’ve had. Highly recommend checking this place out. Shannon, Maranne, and Amanda have been nothing short of incredibly helpful, kind, professional, and compassionate. I booked my wedding very far out due to being Active Duty stationed overseas and they have been absolutely wonderful. Communication is consistent, payments are fair and always reminded, and the staff really cares. Plus, the vendors they recommend are the same- consistent, talented, kind, and professional. 10/10! We chose Thousand Acre Farm to hold our Winter wedding and it was a great experience! Gorgeous views, welcoming atmosphere and a well taken care of property, made our guests feel right at home; so much so, everyone was on the dance floor enjoying themselves. Thank you TAF! They are very accommodating and made me feel so comfortable. You can’t beat the breathtaking environment and the peace and serenity it oozes. Definitely recommend for your events. Fantastic venue, I performed a wedding ceremony there for close friends recently and the venue is gorgeous, quaint and cozy. Would recommend to anyone looking for a local spot for a small wedding. They also have apple picking in the fall. Could not have had a more beautiful setting for our event. Everything was perfect ! The staff was absolutely amazing to work with and made this so easy and enjoyable for us. We look forward to having many more events here in the future. Thousand Acre Farms began in 2013 with the ingenuity of its owner, Mike Hynson. As a successful entrepreneur, he saw the need for a quality venue that focused specifically on weddings and events. With this in mind, Mike set out to create a one-of-a-kind venue for guests to enjoy. Thousand Acre Farm, a waterfront venue located in Middletown, Delaware welcomes you! This family-owned farm offers couples and guests a glam-rustic feel that cannot be found anywhere else. We promise that you and your guests will have the most amazing time making lifelong memories at our venue. With sweeping waterfront views and a convenient location, Thousand Acre Farm is the ideal place for any special occasion. At Thousand Acre Farm, we strive to give you the event of your dreams by offering you a variety of party options. Our guests are given the opportunity to work with an array of tried-and-true caterers we provide especially for your convenience. In addition, on the day of your event, Thousand Acre Farm staff will be on-site to supervise and assist in making sure your day runs smoothly. Mike’s passion for the business stems from the love of his family. He created Thousand Acre Farms to be able to work with his immediate family day-to-day and build a company culture that expanded beyond just his family. Thousand Acre Farm is now in the hands of Mike’s children & the second generations of Hynson’s. Mike said, “It’s important that we have the best people, doing the right thing at the right time. We aim to be a premier event venue by offering unique spaces and passionate employees. Maranne’s experience as a Wedding Planner for many years has been a huge part of making the Thousand Acre Farm team successful. She meets with clients individually to help them find their perfect venue and bring their vision to life. In her free time, she loves spending time with her animals, listening to live music (especially John Mayer), shopping, and going on adventures and cruises with her husband. She also enjoys hiking mountainsides, camping, and exploring with her husband and their two sons. Josh has been with us since the beginning. He is here to make your wedding day as seamless as possible. His years of experience at the venue means he is always looking to ensure each couple has their dream wedding. In his free time she enjoys being outdoors & gaming. Tom assists with the site’s development and production. Tom is sure to keep the property looking top-notch.
