At the 41st Annual Awards Banquet on January 30, 2026, Town of Chili Commissioner of Public Works, David P. Lindsay, P.E., was honored as the recipient of the Public Works Leader of the Year by the Genesee Valley Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA).  This award recognizes professionals for lifetime achievements in public infrastructure, technology advancement, and community service. The award highlights individual career achievements, dedication, and expertise in improving community quality of life through public works services and honors professionals who have demonstrated exceptional service and leadership in their respective field.During his tenure, David has exemplified the highest standards of professionalism in public works management. He has successfully led initiatives that have improved infrastructure, enhanced community safety, and strengthened operational efficiency. Notably, during his tenure the Town of Chili has completed several modernization projects. The most notable ones enjoyed by the general public are the capital improvements that have occurred during his tenure with the Town of Chili: Department of Public Works Facility (2011); Union Station Spray Park (2015); Community Center (2021); Library to Town Court Conversion (2022); Dog Shelter Upgrade (2023); Park Playground Upgrades (2024); Veteran’s Memorial (2024); thousands of miles of road improvements and replacements; and oversight of dozens of new subdivision phases and related infrastructure. In addition to the physical, visible improvements, David has implemented improvements in almost all departments within the Town of Chili.
