About Transplanting Traditions Community Farm

The Transplanting Traditions Community Farm is a vocational agricultural program that works to build economically viable and ecologically sustainable business opportunities for refugees in N.C. On our 8 acre farm, we train refugee families originally from Burma in sustainable agriculture methods. The goal of the project is to prepare refugees to become successful market farmers thereby creating a viable and culturally appropriate business opportunity for the refugee community.

Our Story

Transplanting Traditions Community Farm works to build economically viable and ecologically sustainable business opportunities for refugees in N.C. They support food sovereignty in the refugee community through access to land, education and opportunities for refugee farmers. The farm provides a cultural community space for refugee adults and youth to come together, recreate home and build healthy communities, and continue agricultural traditions in the Piedmont of N.C.
