Its feathery-like foliage is a hummingbird attractor and can soften any arid landscape. Characteristics:Fast-growing shrub with upright habit Clusters of bright yellow flowers with long red stamens produced in the summer Natural growth habit is irregular and open, but pruning can encourage dense growth Tolerant of cold, heat, and drought Performs best in full sun exposures Grows to 10 feet tall by 8 feet wide All parts of the shrub are toxic and should never be ingested Care and Maintenance:Plant in full or partial sun locations Tolerates any well-drained soil, including rocky, native soils Does not perform well in heavy clay soils Prune in spring to remove dead or damaged stems Water every week in the summer, every month in low-elevation zones, and rely on rainfall in intermediate elevation zones
