Alicia Holbrook and her husband, Eric, started the farm after Alicia watched a late night show on alpacas while up late after the birth of their second daughter. Eric loved the idea, which is rare! After they attended a seminar on alpaca farming, they decided to make the investment. Over the course of two years, Alicia and Eric purchased land, visited several other alpacas to learn as much as they could, built a barn, and pulled fences. With the help of some great family members, the entire project was completed in November of 2013. Since the arrival of the starter herd of 5 pregnant females in November 2013, the herd has welcomed numerous crias over the years. The farm is protected by llamas and a Great Pyrenees named Elsa. Carolina Pride Pastures is an alpaca farm featuring Huacaya and Suri alpacas, with other farm friends, such as chickens, ducks, llamas! The farm specializes in farm tours, educational seminars, fleece sales, and alpaca fertilizer. Each spring, the family shears the herd and preps the fleece for the mill. US based mills spin yarn for the farm which can be bought online or at the farm store. some of the yarn is used by Eric's sisters to knit and crochet the handmade products available for purchase as well. FIELD TRIPS &EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS Open most Saturdays from 10-2. Book online to ensure availability.
