Full Circle Community Farm was named 2024 Organic Farm of the Year in the Midwest. The Adamski family's roots stretch back five generations on their 260-acre farm in Seymour. Rick and Valerie use managed grazing as the cornerstone method for raising certified organic beef. The farm provides a balanced ecological system to protect waterways, increase soil health and sequester carbon, and increase wildlife and biodiversity. Beyond their farm, Val and Rick are trailblazers in sustainable agriculture. Val implemented the Sustainable and Organic Farming program at Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). Rick serves on the board of GrassWorks, a statewide grazing organization. They are happy to see the next generation use part of the farm for vegetables and pork. Andrew and Heather moved back to this, his home farm, after earning master’s degrees from Northern Michigan University. Andrew runs the machinery side of the veggie operation and oversees the pastured pork operation. Heather (a New Mexico transplant) is the administrative mastermind of the business. She not only runs the farm LLC, but also coordinates our SLO Farmer Cooperative food hub. Scott Rosenberg joined with Heather Toman and Andrew Adamski to form Full Circle Community Farm LLC after leaving a well-paying corporate job. As co-owner-manager Scott oversees the farm’s work force and day-to-day field operations. He makes sure seeds are planted, weeds are weeded, and produce is harvested, cleaned, packed and stored, following the farm’s food safety protocols. Full Circle Community Farm is the primary contributor of fresh produce to SLO's vegetable CSA Shares, the main suppliers of grass-fed pastured beef for SLO's Meat Boxes, and is one of the pastured pork providers. All farm enterprises are certified organic. Their vision for Full Circle extends beyond its fertile fields; they see it blossoming into a beacon of community, where education and research are at the center of their mission. Rick and Scott serve on SLO Farmers Co-op's Board of Directors. Rick is the Vice President and Treasurer and Scott is the Secretary. Valentine Gardens is a 5 acre educational and production farm located in the city of Green Bay. Sarah and Mark Valentine along with their 3 kids, dogs, cats, goats, chickens, pony, and bees love learning and teaching about sustainable farming. They practice organic farming methods in both their acre of gardens and their 100+ tree orchard. They are also passionate about native plants and have fostered a beautiful property that has been certified as a Monarch Waystation. Sarah and Mark are both educators. Both use their gifts to run successful farm camp programs for both kids and adults. The Valentines are proud members of the Wisconsin Farmers Union and enjoy sharing their harvest with SLO's CSA members. They also host a farmstand that features select products. Whether it's raising farm animals or planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables, the Valentines are firm believers that "Food should be loved!" Mark serves on SLO Farmers Co-op's Board of Directors. Nestled in the verdant landscapes of Freedom, Wisconsin, Greg and Mary Fox tend to a legacy that spans four generations at Foxtail Produce.
